Sneer

you think you’re everyone’s better?
or do I just merit disdain?
it’s bad enough you’d ignore me
but worse that you think I’m a stain
in your world I’m merely a loser
I don’t have the bootstraps or brains
it’s bad enough you won’t help me
but worse that you fear me a drain
you excuse a sneer for the needy
they deserve everything they don’t get
it’s bad enough they keep begging
but worse that they even exist
