PS13
there are times I cannot find You
seeking
I cannot see a trace
open my eyes
illuminate me
favor me
let me your face
destressed and dying
sinking fast
I need a fresh sense of your grace
my trust and joy
will be a choice
your love and salvation
my resting place
your story
my testimony
will be my songs
every circumstance
1/16/26
(Notes from 9/13/1998) “Unanswered Prayer”
For a second time David prays a prayer in the face of God’s apparent absence. I don’t want to find out what that is like. But what faith David has is because he has seen God work before. “I will sing unto YHWH because He hath dealt bountifully with me.”
Update
I think I have had these “hard to see God” moments in my life now, some 30 years later. This is why the record of God’s work—the testimonies, the journals, the songs—are so important to collect!
