what used to be lies
became alternative facts
and now the official,
government, sophism

what we saw with our eyes
in days not long past
was really quite different
sedition? no, patriotism

when the right way
the moral way
the godly way
the Christian way
is:
might makes right
the ends justify
fight the “good” fight
“I hate my opponent.”

please cut off the tongues
sever cunning replies
shut up the mouths
who prevail with their lies

remind us to care for the poor
to hear the groans of the needy
to love as you love
to trust You as You guard us from evil

(Notes from 9/12/1998) “Truth <-> Lies”

“They speak falsehood everyone… with flattering lip and double heart do they speak.”

Once again, David writes to his day a word that is true today in America. But God’s word is pure. “Purified seven times.”

The constants seem to be:

-God’s word is always true, relevant, and helpful.

-Worldly powers are duplicitous, untrustworthy, and against truth.

-If you find yourself on the side of worldly power, telling you it is with the angels, you had better check yourself!
