Quixotic

mosquitos suck
blood and joy from life
nights on cool porches
watermelon, grills
drive-in movie nights

they carry disease but
mostly just itch
facing this problem
here is the sitch
we are going to poison
the air all around
pump it from trucks
driven through town
as thick as stench
and kids will chase us
riding blindly on bikes
huffing giant vape puffs

hopefully cancer
levels won’t spike
good bugs will die too
but mosquitos will
be slightly less abundant
