“I simply taught, preached, and wrote God’s Word; otherwise I did nothing. And while I slept, or drank Wittenberg beer with my friends Philip and Amsdorf, the Word so greatly weakened the papacy that no price or emperor ever inflicted such losses upon it.” -Luther 1522
too often we let our plans and schemes
get in the way of God’s purpose
we think that our work is all so important
but totally miss the appointments
perhaps we should loiter and loaf a bit more
waste-time in the sense of our efforts
make room for the Spirit and tarry awhile
dawdle and linger and wander and lurk
and see where some dilly-dally leads us
