Isaiah 12: The Song of the Redeemeed (Brief)
Isaiah pens a song/poem calling the remnant/saved—individually and communally—to praise God for what he has done and to proclaim his name.
The Central Idea of the Text is:
The Salvation experience should elicit thankful praise and joyful proclamation.
The major emphases of the text are:
(1) We should be ever thankful that God delivered us from his anger to the comfort of his forgiveness. Compassion.
(2) Since God is our deliverance, we should trust him (be courageous) and not fear the world.
(3) Since God has delivered us, we should be strong and joyful in the world.
(4) God’s salvation/deliverance is a continual source of compassion and courage and strength joy.
(5) As a community, we should be thankful.
As a community we should make known his deeds.
As a community we should praise him in song.
(6) As a community we should invoke his name.
As a community we should remind people of his name.
As a community we should proclaim this to all the earth.
(7) Our correct response is to proclaim and sing because God is with us!
