tell me your five-year plan
from today five years ago
how did it work out then?
how far’ve you left yet to go?
is where you’ve got to now
better than you’d hoped for then?
or would you go find how
you got off track and amend?
even the best of plans
can’t see the outcomes forehence
and all must leave some room
for the plans of providence
